Getting to a US Sailing Championship from Area J
Some US Sailing championships are "open" events that anyone can enter, such as the Junior Women's Singlehanded and Doublehanded Championships (Leiter & Ida Lewis). Others, such as the Championship of Champions regatta, are invitational events that select their entries based on resumes. Still other events are "ladder" events that require qualification from a US Sailing area. Information about all of the US Sailing Championships is available here.
The so-called "ladder" championships are listed below. For each of those championships there may be an Area J sail-off to select the qualifying individual or boat from Area J. As the dates of any Area J elimination regatta are finalized they will be posted here. The name of each championship links to information about the national championship.
